10 – Vagabond Flag
Reviving the guitar based sounds of the 90s, Vagabond Flag takes influences from The Verve and Oasis and combines them with lyrics that aren’t afraid to address the topics of today. His debut single – ‘Not Afraid’- is a protest song which faces off against todays easy listening pop and pretty boy rock with the simple mantra – good music lasts, and so does the message it carries. In the face of globalisation, we could be forgiven for thinking that Brit Pop remains in the past. But alongside other bands that still hold a candle to the genre such as Foals, Towns and Lux Lisbon, Vagabond Flag continues the tradition of combining songwriting quality and catchy guitar riffs that is quintessentially ‘Cool Britannia’.
Favourite Track – Too early to say, but check out the debut album ‘Notes’ to be released in January. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x4QczThHxT8
